Kyrgyzstan: Mudflow floods houses in Leilek district

A mudflow occurred in the rural districts of Kulundu and Beshkent of Leilek district, Batken region, on June 8 at 19.00 pm after heavy rains.

As a result of the mudflow, many villages of Leilek district were flooded, there were no victims.

Currently, the civil protection commission is working to identify the material damage.

Today, Minister of Emergency Situations Kubatbek Boronov has left for Batken with deputy Minister of emergency situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshanbek Rysbaev to take prompt measures to eliminate the consequences of an emergency.

Two groups consisting 30 rescuers of the military unit of the state rescue squad were sent to the site to help cope with the situation.

11 tonnes of fuel, 50 tents, 250 pieces of blankets were provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations for recovery.

In addition, special vehicles were provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Transport and Communication, Ministry of Agriculture.
